GEORGE CONDO
George Condo (born 1957) is an American artist based in New York City who works across painting, drawing, sculpture, and printmaking.
He grew up studying art history and music at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, and even played bass in a punk band before turning fully to art. In the late 1970s he crossed paths with Jean-Michel Basquiat, which pushed him to move to New York and pursue painting seriously.
